We reached another important milestone in the life and times of Kro IT Solutions today. The first of 5 software projects we are working on for St. Michael’s Hospital in Dun Laoghaire was approved with no remaining change requests or testing to be completed. The hospital are now starting a process of training and change management with a view to putting the software live and in a working environment for the 21^st June. The next four projects are rolling in fast and will be live in or around the same date.

This project was a combined effort of a number of staff and associates of Kro IT Solutions including Cathal McHale who designed the architecture and developed the code base, Erika Békés who worked on the system for the last few months finalising it for release, and Clive Gargan who worked on the reporting requirements. The effort and workload is noted and very much appreciated. All the work was completed in-house and within budget.

For those of you who are technically minded the rolecall of technologies used includes Microsoft C# .Net 3.5 ASPx, Monorail, Castle, nHibernate, nUnit, Microsoft SQLServer 2008, and Microsoft Reporting Services.

The healthcare software market in Ireland is dominated by software companies that produce very overpriced software based on Microsoft Accessor similar archaic technologies. The software now installed and operating in St. Michael’s in Dun Laoghaire is cutting edge software that has been produced and installed at a very competitive price and in a very professional manner. The aim of Kro IT Solutions has always been to produce smart technology by smart developers for smart companies. When the three come together the results are inspiring and hopefully go some way to counter the dreadful reputation custom software development often enjoys in Ireland.
